Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.

The “Export” group is part of the “TS Marketplaces” tab (previously called “Time Savers 4”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.

The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:

  • Export PDFs for different marketplaces with unique links and designs in preparation for selling your products on multiple marketplaces.

Image file type options:

export dropdown1
  • Choose between PNG and JPG – for pins or thumbnails

Pin cover:

checkbox
  • Select if you want to export the first slide of your presentation as an image to use as a pin for Pinterest. This will be done at the time that the PDFs are exported.
  • Any marketplace shape tags will be applied, so if you have different shapes that are meant to be visible for different marketplaces on your first slide, more than one pin image will be saved.

Thumbnails:

checkbox
  • Select if you want to export the slides of your presentation as images to use as thumbnails. This will be done at the time that the PDFs are exported.
  • Any marketplace shape or slide tags will be applied, so if you have different shapes/slides that are meant to be visible for different marketplaces in your presentation, more than one set of thumbnail images will be saved.
  • You will be given the option when you save your presentation as PDFs to only save the TPT PDF to use as a preview, rather than saving all the PDFs, since other marketplaces do not use PDF previews at this point.

Export PDFs:

Export
  • Quickly and easily export your presentation as multiple PDFs – for your different marketplaces.
  • If you have product placeholders and product covers tagged, the product covers will be moved into position.
  • Each marketplace PDF will have its own links and shapes/slides that you tagged.
  • If you checked the ‘Pin Cover’ option/’Thumbnails’ option the relevant slides will also be exported as images at the same time.
  • Any linked shapes that have both a UTM Source and a UTM Campaign will have their links updated to include the UTM codes.
  • Only links to URLs and specified slides will be preserved. Links to Next, Previous, First or Last slides will not be preserved.
  • If you have selected the ‘Flatten PDF’ option in the ‘Flatten Presentation’ group, your presentation will automatically be flattened before it is exported as a PDFs.
  • If you are using a Mac the PDF will be saved to your desktop. You may be asked to grant permission to access the folder in order for the PDF to be saved there. If you are saving thumbnails, they will be placed in folders on you desktop and you may be asked to give permission to access each of these folders.
  • If you are using a PC the PDF will be saved in 1 of 3 places:
    • If your presentation file is not in a OneDrive synced folder, it will be saved in the same folder that your presentation is in.
    • If your presentation is in a OneDrive synced folder, the add-in will save files to your desktop.
    • In the event that you have moved your desktop folder into your One-Drive synced folder, the add-in will save files to your user profile folder. This folder is usually located in a ‘Users’ folder in the C Drive. I recommend copying your user profile folder and pasting it as a shortcut on your desktop for easy access.

There is a fantastic Facebook group, Teacher-Sellers on the Marketplaces, where you can find an enormous amount of valuable information about selling your resources on each of these different platforms.

Thank you to Elaine Greenwell, who has spent a great deal of time researching and putting together all this information and providing support for other sellers wishing to diversify.

Please note: You will need to answer questions and agree to the group rules in order to be added to the group.
