How to Use the "Multiple Choice" Group of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint
Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.
The “Multiple Choice” group is part of the “TS Create” tab (previously called “Time Savers 2”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.
The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:
- Quickly and easily create self-checking multiple choice activities for PowerPoint.
Preparing To Create Your Activity – Tagging Choices As Correct Or Incorrect:
Correct
- Tag selected shapes as ‘Correct’ choices
- If a shape is already tagged as ‘Correct’ when you click this button, the tag will be removed.
Incorrect
- Tag selected shapes as ‘Incorrect’ choices
- If a shape is already tagged as ‘Incorrect’ when you click this button, the tag will be removed.
Check
- Check multiple choice tags of all shapes in your presentation.
- All shapes tagged as ‘Correct’ will be outlined in GREEN.
- All shapes tagged as ‘Incorrect’ will be outlined in RED.
Single Choice activity:
Single Choice – only one shape can be tagged as ‘Correct’ on each slide
Once you have tagged all the choices for your activity as ‘Correct’ or ‘Incorrect’, click the ‘Single Choice’ button.
- 2 new slides will be added to your presentation – a Correct feedback slide and an Incorrect feedback slide.
- You can customize these slides to suit your needs, including the ‘Back’ and ‘Next’ buttons (just be sure not to delete the buttons).
Once you have finished customizing the feedback slides, click the ‘Single Choice’ button again.
- The activity will be created.
- Slides will be linked for the activity to work properly.
- Single Choice activities can be used in Google Slides.
- Single Choice activities can be used in PDF format.
Multiple Choice activity:
Multiple Choice
Once you have tagged all the choices for your activity as ‘Correct’ or ‘Incorrect’, click the ‘Multiple Choice’ button.
- A new slide will be added to your presentation with 2 feedback shapes – ‘Correct’ and ‘Incorrect’.
- The feedback shapes will appear on top of each shape tagged as ‘Correct’ or ‘Incorrect’ when a player checks their answers while playing.
- You can customize these shapes to suit your needs.
- There are also 4 buttons on the slide – ‘Reset’, ‘See Answers’, ‘Check’ and ‘Next’. You customize and position these buttons to suit your needs – but be sure not to delete them.
Once you have finished customizing the feedback shapes and the buttons, click the ‘Multiple Choice’ button again.
- The activity will be created.
- Animations will be applied and slides will be linked for the activity to work properly.
Multiple Choice activities cannot be used in Google slides, as they use trigger animations which don’t work in Google Slides.
Settings:
- Shuffle slides
- If all multiple choice slides are consecutive, they will automatically be shuffled before the activity is created.
- Shuffle choices
- The positions of the ‘correct’ and ‘incorrect’ choices on each slide will automatically be shuffled when the activity is created.
- If you have extra choices that are not on the slide, the ‘correct’ choice will be placed on the slide and all extra choices (off the slide) will be deleted.
- Intro and End
- Add an introductory slide before the first multiple choice slide and an end slide after the last multiple choice slide
- Add an introductory slide before the first multiple choice slide and an end slide after the last multiple choice slide
