Create code message:
Once you have selected the type of code you wish to create, click the ‘Create’ button to start creating your code message.
- A table will be inserted on a new slide (which will be added after the current slide) with spaces for all the letters/numbers/punctuation for your code. If you wish to use a particular font for your activity, you can change the text in this table to your desired font and that font will be used when creating the activity.
- You will need to insert the images (if you are using images) you wish to use in your code on this slide. If you wish to control the order they are inserted into the table, you need to add them to the slide in your desired order.
- You can also choose to use text instead of images. If you wish to use text, simply type your desired text into the cells above the letters/numbers/punctuation, using any font you choose (including dingbat fonts).
- The code message will be created using the same size as the table. You can adjust the size of the table to control the size of the final code message.
- A shape will also be inserted on the slide for you to type in your message.
Once you have inserted the pictures and filled in your message for you code, click the ‘Create’ button to finish creating your code message.
- Your images will be arranged in the table (if you are using images), in the order in which they were inserted on the slide
- The code message will then be created on a second new slide, with lines above or below each image for students to fill in the corresponding letters.
- The decoded message will also be created, on a third new slide, with the correct letters filled in.
