How to Use the "Puzzles" Group of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint

Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.


The “Puzzles” group is part of the “TS Create” tab (previously called “Time Savers 2”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.

The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:

  • Quickly turn any picture into a puzzle.

Shape options:

  • Straight: rectangular pieces
  • Uniform: All pieces all are made with the same size bumps and dips
  • Irregular: All pieces are unique

Text options:

  • No Text: pieces are plain
  • Text: transparent shapes are placed on top of and grouped with each piece so that you can add text if desired

Different preset design options:

  • You can choose from 3 different design options for your puzzle pieces.

Create:

Puzzles
  • Select the picture you wish to divide into puzzle pieces and click the ‘Create’ button.
  • Note: this function will only work if you have a picture selected. Other shapes will not work.

Shuffle puzzle pieces:

  • If you wish to shuffle the pieces of your puzzle, simply select at least one piece of the puzzle and click the ‘Shuffle puzzle pieces’ button. All the pieces of the puzzle that the selected piece belongs to will be shuffled.

Solve:

  • If you wish to solve the puzzle after the pieces have been moved around, simply select at least one piece of the puzzle and click the ‘Solve puzzle’ button. The puzzle that the selected piece belongs to will be solved automatically.

Format pieces:

  • If you wish to change the design of the puzzle pieces, there are different options. First you need to select at least one piece from the puzzle whose pieces you wish to format. Then you can either
    • Choose a different option from the preset designs (Line, No Line or 3D) OR
    • Take full control of the formatting of the puzzle pieces
      • Click the ‘Format puzzle pieces’ button to select all the pieces from the relevant puzzle. This is particularly useful if you have created puzzle pieces with text, in which case it is difficult to get to all the puzzle pieces under all the text boxes.
      • Adjust and customize the formatting to your liking.
      • When you are finished formatting the puzzle pieces, be sure to click the Format Puzzle Pieces button again to regroup the pieces with their textboxes.
