How to Use the "Black and White" Group of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint

Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.

The “Black and White” group is part of the “TS Publish” tab (previously called “Time Savers 3”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.

The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:

  • Quickly and easily create a black and white version of your resource.

Disclaimer:

  • Before using this tool to change pictures to black and white, please check the TOU of any clipartists whose images you are using.
  • Some clipartists do not allow you to alter their images (including changing the colors).
  • If you are unsure, reach out to the clipartist in question and check with them. You can explain what the add-in does (changes the color saturation, contrast and brightness to achieve a black and white effect) and ask the clipartist if they are okay with you doing this with their images.
  • If the clipartist has provided a black and white version of their colour images, then their BW images would probably be better quality than what you would get by changing a colour image to black and white with this tool.
  • If the clipartist is okay with you using this tool, and has also provided BW images, it is up to you to weigh up the difference between the time you would save swopping all the images and the quality difference and decide which option you would rather use.
  • This tool is particularly useful for changing images to BW when you don’t have BW versions of the images – provided that the clipartists allow it.

This will cause it to lose any existing formatting you have added (background fills, outlines, etc.). If you do not wish for this to happen, you will be able to choose not to reset the pictures, and then you can replace the pictures yourself (using the Time Savers Add-in, or using PowerPoint’s built in ‘Change Picture’ function.
