How to Use the "Shape Spacing" Group of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint
Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.
The “Shape Spacing” group is part of the “TS Shapes” tab (previously part of the “TS Design” tab, formerly called “Time Savers 1”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.
The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:
- Quickly and easily change the spacing of multiple objects like shapes and pictures on your slides.
Expand and compress shape spacing:
- You can choose to expand or compress the shape spacing either HORIZONTALLY or VERTICALLY.
- When EXPANDING the shape spacing, the size of the gaps between the shapes increases.
- When COMPRESSING the shape spacing, the size of the gaps between the shapes decreases.
- You can choose to expand or compress the spaces in smaller or larger increments.
- Spacing is expanded or compressed based on each shape’s position relative to the top-most or left-most selected shape.
Set gap size:
- Set the size of the gaps you wish to have between your shapes.
- The value you fill in the ‘Gap’ field is in points.
- 1 inch = 72 points
- 1 cm = approximately 28.35 points
- If you wish to have no gap between your shapes, you can fill in a 0.
Set vertical spacing:
- Get the vertical spacing value from 2 selected shapes to use for spacing more shapes.
- The selected shapes will all be spaced vertically based on the value you have filled in the ‘Gap’ field.
- If you have not filled a value in, your selected shapes will be evenly distributed vertically.
Set horizontal spacing:
- Get the horizontal spacing value from 2 selected shapes to use for spacing more shapes.
- The selected shapes will all be spaced horizontally based on the value you have filled in the ‘Gap’ field.
- If you have not filled a value in, your selected shapes will be evenly distributed horizontally.
