How to Use the "Export Shapes" Group of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint
PLEASE NOTE: THIS FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK ON MAC
Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.
The “Export Slides” group is part of the “TS Publish” tab (previously called “Time Savers 3”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.
The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:
- Quickly and easily export a large number of shapes as separate images at the same time.
Image file type options:
- Choose between PNG and JPG.
Name:
- You will be asked to fill in the name you wish to give to the selected shapes.
- If you have selected more than one shape, all selected shapes will be given the same name.
Export:
- Select the shapes you wish to export as images and click the ‘Export’ button.
- All selected shapes will be exported as images.
- If shapes are grouped, the group will be treated as a single shape. Shapes within the group will not be exported separately.
- A message will appear asking you to fill in the ‘resolution’ at which you wish to export the shapes.
- Please note: When exporting shapes from PowerPoint in this manner, the resolution is always 96 dpi. However, by filling in a ‘resolution’ you will change the SIZE of the image – making it the same number of pixels (and hence the same quality) as if it were the resolution you filled in.
- A second message will appear letting you know that a new folder will be created and asking you to fill in the name you wish to give this new folder.
- The new folder will be created inside the folder containing the file you are working on.
- It is advisable to save your presentation before your exporting slides as images, so that you know where the new folder will be created.
- If you have not already saved your presentation, the new folder may be created in your C Drive, or whichever drive in which you primarily work – you may need to search for it.
- The new folder will be created inside the folder containing the file you are working on.
- If you have named the shapes you are exporting, the image files will be given your chosen names.
- If any of the shapes have been given the same name, they will be numbered in order to avoid the files overwriting one another.
- If you have not named the shapes, they will be given generic names.
