How to Use the "Pictures" Group of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint

Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.

The “Pictures” group is part of the “TS Shapes” tab (previously part of the “TS Design” tab, formerly called “Time Savers 1”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.

The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:

Insert pictures.
Quickly and easily replace multiple pictures on your slide at once – all with the same picture, or with different pictures.
Add picture placeholders to your presentation and then fill all the placeholders throughout your presentation with pictures all in one go.
Replace pictures that have been tagged as the same throughout the presentation all at one time.
Quickly and easily change the cropping of selected pictures.
Insert the names of selected pictures using their saved file paths.

Cropping Options:

You can select multiple shapes and use the cropping buttons to change their cropping all at once.
You can also use the buttons to choose the cropping setting for when you insert pictures into picture placeholders.

Crop to Fit

If this option is selected, pictures will be cropped to fit when inserted into the placeholders.
You can also use this function to change the cropping of all selected images to ‘Crop to Fit’.

Crop to Fill

If this option is selected, pictures will be cropped to fill when inserted into the placeholders.
You can also use this function to change the cropping of all selected images to ‘Crop to Fill’.

No Crop (Stretch)

If this option is selected, pictures will not be cropped, but will instead be stretched to fill the placeholders when inserted.
You can also use this function to change the cropping of all selected images to ‘No Crop (Stretch)’.

Insert Pictures:

Insert pictures on the current slide.
- All pictures inserted with the Time Savers Add-in will automatically be tagged.
- All pictures inserted with the Time Savers Add-in will automatically have their original file path stored.

Replace Pictures:

Replace all selected pictures with pictures of your choice.
Select all the pictures you wish to replace.
A window will open so that you can choose the image(s) with which you wish to replace the selected pictures.
The selected pictures will be replaced in the order in which they were selected.

Tagging Pictures:

Pictures can be tagged throughout the presentation to indicate that they are the same. You will then be able to replace all pictures in the presentation with the same tags at the same time.

Tag pictures
- All selected pictures or shapes will be given the SAME TAG, which you can choose.
- Then when replacing tagged pictures or shapes, all those with the same tag will be replaced with the SAME PICTURE.

Reset picture tags
- All selected pictures will have their tags reset to their file paths.
- If you have no pictures selected, you will be asked if you wish to reset the tags of all pictures in the presentation.
- Note:
  - This will only work for pictures added using the Time Savers Add-in Version 7.0 or later.

Check tags
- If you have a picture/shape selected, you will be shown which pictures/shapes in the presentation have the SAME tag as the one selected.
- If you have no pictures/shapes selected, all pictures/shapes in the presentation with tags will be shown, with their tags.

Remove tags
- Tags will be removed from all selected pictures.
- If no pictures are selected, you can choose whether you would like to remove the tags from all pictures in the presentation.

Update Pictures:

Any pictures inserted with the Time Savers Add-in have the original file path saved.
If you have a new version of the picture in the same location on your computer, this function will update the selected pictures to the new version of the picture.
Useful for updating product covers in catalogues etc.
Note:
- This will only work if the file path of the new version of the picture is exactly the same as the file path of the original picture.
- This will only work for pictures added using the Time Savers Add-in Version 7.0 or later.

Name Pictures:

Insert names of selected pictures using saved file paths.
Note:
- This will only work for pictures added using the Time Savers Add-in Version 7.0 or later.

Vertical list

Insert names of selected pictures in a shape in the form of a vertical list

Horizontal list

Insert names of selected pictures in a shape in the form of a list separated by commas

Table

Insert names of selected pictures in a table

Single column table

Insert names of selected pictures in a single column table

Caption

Insert names of selected pictures as captions for each picture

Replace Tagged Pictures:

Select the tagged picture(s) you wish to replace.
A window will open so that you can choose the image(s) with which you wish to replace the tagged pictures.
All images in the presentation with tags matching the tags of your selected pictures will be replaced with the same pictures, in the order in which they were selected.

Options for Replacing Pictures and Tagged Pictures:

Change order manually

You can choose if you want to change the picture order manually.
This will allow you to have more control over the order in which your pictures are inserted.
Once you have chosen your new pictures, they will be added to the slide and you will be able to rearrange them to make sure they are in the order you need.
Once you have ordered the pictures, you can click the ‘Replace Pictures’ button again and your pictures will be inserted in the picture placeholders.

Repeat Sequence

You can choose if you want your pictures to be replaced with your chosen images in a recurring sequence until all selected pictures have been replaced.

Attempt to Replicate Cropping

You can choose if you would like to attempt to replicate the cropping of pictures you are replacing.
Please note:
- If the old and new pictures have different dimensions, cropping may not be replicated properly.

Attempt to Replicate Animations

You can choose if you want to try and replicate your existing pictures’ animations if possible.
Please note:
- This feature will not work with all versions of PowerPoint.
- Only basic animations will be preserved – without timing or trigger settings.
- There is no guarantee that animations will be preserved properly.

Picture Placeholders:

You can add picture placeholders to the slides in your presentation.
If you wish to create a template from an existing presentation, you can select any shapes or pictures you wish to replace with placeholders and click this button. The selected items will then be replaced with picture placeholders.

You can also add picture placeholders with predefined shapes to your slides.

Replace Placeholders:

Insert Pictures into Picture Placeholders.
A window will open so that you can choose the image(s) you wish to insert into the picture placeholders.
Starting from the beginning of the presentation, the picture placeholders will be replaced by the pictures you choose.

Change order manually

You can choose if you want to change the picture order manually.
This will allow you to have more control over the order in which your selected pictures are inserted.
Once you have chosen your new pictures, they will be added to the slide and you will be able to rearrange them to make sure they are in the order you need.
