How to Use the "Manipulate Matching Shapes on Multiple Slides" Group of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint
Please note: Some changes may have been made to the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint since the making of this video.
The “Manipulate Matching Shapes on Multiple Slides” group is part of the “TS Shapes” tab (previously part of the “TS Design” tab, formerly called “Time Savers 1”) of the Time Savers Add-in for PowerPoint.
The tools in this part of the Time Savers Add-in make it possible for you to:
- Quickly perform actions on the same objects on all slides, like moving and resizing.
General:
MATCHING SHAPES are all shapes that have exactly the same SIZE and POSITION as the shapes you have selected.
Tag slides/Remove tags:
- You can tag specific slides for editing if you do not wish to perform certain actions on all slides.
- Slides that are tagged for editing will be given a red frame so that you can easily which slides are tagged and which are not. These frames are really just transparent rectangles, so they are movable – so please remember to remove tags when you are done editing so that the frames will be deleted and not get in your way.
- If you do not have any slides tagged for editing when you use the rest of the functions in this group, matching shapes on ALL SLIDES will be affected.
Delete:
- The selected shapes, as well as all matching shapes on all slides/tagged slides will be deleted.
Format:
- Shapes on all slides/tagged slides matching those that are selected will be given the same formatting as the selected shapes that they match.
Paste:
- The selected shapes will be copied and pasted onto all slides/tagged slides.
- If there is already an existing shape matching the shape that is being pasted, it will be DELETED when the copied shape is pasted.
Bring to the front/Send to the back:
- The selected shapes, as well as all matching shapes on all slides/tagged slides will be brought to the front or sent to the back on their slides.
Link:
- Shapes on all slides/tagged slides matching those that are selected will be given the same links as the selected shapes that they match.
Replace:
- All shapes matching those you have selected on this slide will be replaced on all slides with your selected shapes.
- Z-order of matching shapes being replaced will be preserved.
Resize:
- The selected shapes, as well as all matching shapes on all slides/tagged slides will be resized.
- If the shapes contain any text, it will be scaled as well. Please note: text scaling does not apply to charts.
- Shapes can be scaled by 10% at a time for speed or by 2% at a time for accuracy.
Move/Nudge:
- The selected shapes, as well as all matching shapes on all slides/tagged slides will be moved/nudged in the desired direction.
- Move: shapes are moved by larger amounts at a time, for speed.
- Nudge: shapes are moved by smaller amounts at a time, for accuracy.
